Data processed

  • Account data: name, email, billing information.
  • Submitted content: article texts sent to generate audio.
  • Usage data: volumes generated, player listens (aggregated measurement).

Purposes and legal basis

Content is processed solely to deliver the service (audio generation), on the basis of the contract. We do not exploit your content for any other purpose: no resale, no commercial analysis, and no training of models of our own.

Hosting and transfers outside the EU

Application data and audio files are hosted in the European Union (Ireland, provider Supabase). The site and the API are served by Vercel.

A generation happens in two stages, each involving a different subprocessor. We list both: it is an obligation, and above all it is the only way for you to know where your text goes.

Text preparation is carried out by Mistral AI, a company established in France, for every account. This is the stage that sees your article in full (cleanup, extraction from a page, translation, summary, image description): it therefore takes place within the European Union, with no transfer. That provider's terms exclude using content submitted through its API to train its models.

Speech synthesis is carried out by Cartesia AI, Inc. and by Google LLC, companies established in the United States, depending on your account's audio tier. The prepared text is sent to them to produce the audio: this constitutes a transfer outside the European Union, governed by each provider's data protection addendum. We prefer to write this plainly rather than leave you to guess it.

These speech providers' terms provide, by default, that they may use content submitted to them to improve their own models. We therefore cannot promise, on our own, that this will never happen. If that use is incompatible with your requirements, write to us: we will document the exact state of our settings with each provider and the contractual guarantees applicable to your account.

Technical fallback. If the European text-preparation provider is unavailable, that stage switches to a backup provider established in the United States (Google LLC) so that your generation completes. This does not apply to accounts on the sovereign tier: for them the generation fails rather than leaving Europe. Every audio produced records in its provenance log the processing location actually used.

Retention period

Content and audio are kept for the duration of the contract, then deleted on request.
